At the end of November 2017, Dean Ms. Zhang Minjian, Deputy Dean Mr. Yang Qingji, and Professor Peng Li of the actuarial sciences department of Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance visited Washington DC and Chicago to discuss potential international actuarial program agreements.
In Washington DC, they went to Towson University to discuss the potential cooperation between the two universities for an international actuarial sciences program. Along the way, they saw the sites that Washington DC has to offer: the Lincoln Memorial, the Capital Building, and the White house. Their meeting went smoothly, with both sides gaining valuable knowledge for how to move forward with an international actuarial program.
After Washington DC, the delegation made its way to Chicago. There, they met with Roosevelt University to once again discuss the details surrounding a potential international agreement between their two actuarial sciences departments.

Roosevelt University, Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance, and FISO Group
FISO Group, on the basis of experience with similar international programs, was able to skillfully guide the conversation with great precision towards establishing a mutual understanding for potential cooperation in the future between the two parties. Both parties left the meeting with a plan for moving forward. In a room which comprised actuarial experts from opposite sides of the world, FISO Group was able to guide the meeting towards common ground and a concrete plan moving forward.
Following a successful meeting between the two parties, Roosevelt University gave a tour of Roosevelt University to Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance. There, they were able to properly envision what an international program between the two schools would both look and feel like. Being able to ground themselves in the physical space that Roosevelt takes up allowed for a greater contextualization of who and what Roosevelt University is.
After meeting with Roosevelt University, the visiting Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance delegation visited the Aon Center to quickly have a chat with FISO’s office in Chicago. They finished the night with a stroll down the magnificent mile, walking beneath the Christmas lights that lined that streets.
