He was the business advisor of Chongqing Investment Promotion Association, is an accomplished attorney, consultant, published author, and award winning scholar and teacher. As a lecturer and graduate student at the University of Chicago, James studied foreign languages and was deeply involved in the university’s international community. Upon receiving his Master of Arts degree, James was honored with the prestigious Elizabeth and Merton Backus award for scholarly excellence. James later accepted a teaching position at a well-regarded university in China, where he received accolades for his outstanding teaching and dedication to his students. Since then, James has had a long and successful personal and professional connection to China as well as Chicago’s diverse Asian community. He has been published and/or quoted in China Daily, Xinhua News, Global Times, and Asia-Pacific Daily, among other publications. James is an honors graduate of Whitman College (B.A.), the University of Chicago (M.A.), and The American University (J.D.).
